This presentation will give a brief history of the often-complex legal system in the United States starting with the colonial times. We will discuss how to understand the laws specific to a region and time period, examine the types or format of records you’re likely to find (dockets, minutes, orders, case files, etc.), and explore the ways your ancestors may appear in the records.

Join host Bob Oppenheim to share tips and techniques for using the Family Tree Maker software package. Share challenges, solve problems, and discuss updates to the software package. 

Join host Bebe Brock in person at Sturgis Library to explore resources for discovering your Cape Cod ancestors.

The group uses an open discussion format. All are welcome to discuss their research, problems that they have encountered, and things they have uncovered. Meetings are recorded. Join host Bob Oppenheim as the group explores their experiences, questions, and successes in researching their German ancestors.
