The DNA Discussion Group (by CCGS board vote 5 September 2018) has been redesignated as a Special Interest Group.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 1:30-3:30PM at the Dennis Public Library

Chairman Teri Grey will be talking about DNA Painter at the September meeting.

To prepare to use this tool you will need to:

1 - Have your DNA at sites with a Chromosome Browser so that includes GEDmatch, FamilyTreeDNA (autosomal test - Family Finder), 23andMe and/or MyHeritage. You can download Ancestry tests and move them to all of these sites except 23andMe.

2 - Have figured out how matches are related to you. Focus on matches with Grandparents, Great Grandparents and higher level relationships.

The tool won't really tell you much if you just have matches to your parents (siblings).

Future meeting dates will be October 2, November 13, and December 11, at the usual time.

Volunteers are needed to lead the group for the winter, starting in December.

Contact Teri Gray (terigrey@gmail.com) if you are interested and willing.
